Africa Youth Partnership on Climate Action Delegation

YOTA, Through Africa Youth Partnership on Climate Action, Amplifies Youth Climate Activists’ Voices at Africa Climate Summit 2

The Youth Opportunity & Transformation in Africa (YOTA), through its flagship initiative, the Africa Youth Partnership on Climate Action (AYPCA), actively engaged at the Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS2) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, reaffirming its commitment to amplifying the voices of young climate activists across the continent.

The Summit, which convened African Heads of State, policymakers, development partners, civil society, and private sector stakeholders, provided a strategic platform for dialogue and collective action towards addressing the pressing climate crisis in Africa. YOTA and its partners, under the AYPCA framework, ensured that the perspectives, demands, and solutions of young people were not only represented but also meaningfully integrated into policy conversations.

Through a series of youth-led dialogues, side events, and engagements with key decision-makers, YOTA worked to elevate the contributions of young climate leaders driving innovative climate adaptation and mitigation solutions in their communities. The Africa Youth Partnership on Climate Action created dedicated spaces for intergenerational exchange, advocacy, and co-creation of sustainable solutions, bridging the gap between youth-led climate action and continental policy priorities.

A Call for Stronger Commitments

Our commitment to climate action remains unchanged as we continue to emphasize the need for:

  • Greater youth inclusion in climate negotiations and decision-making processes at both national and continental levels.
  • Increased investment in youth-led climate innovations and enterprises.
  • Recognition of youth as critical partners in implementing Africa’s climate resilience agenda.

YOTA, through the Africa Youth Partnership on Climate Action, remains committed to advancing meaningful youth engagement in climate governance. The organization will continue working with partners and stakeholders to build momentum for youth-led climate solutions ahead of global convenings, including COP30, and to strengthen Africa’s collective response to the climate emergency.
