The Sierra Leone Youth Task Team Releases a Policy Brief on Alleviating Poverty

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly deteriorated the economies of countless African countries, and the Sierra Leonian economy is no exception. The restriction of the movement of people and goods, and social distancing measures put in place to stop the spread of the virus precipitated the closure of countless businesses, institutions and marketplaces. This further exposed existing gaps in the economic security of the general population.

It is for this reason that the Sierra Leon Youth Task Team of the African Youth Partnership for an Equitable Recovery for the COVID-19 Pandemic has embarked on the quest to advocate for feasible measures to curtail the struggles of the Sierra Leonean citizens. In this vein, the Sierra Leone Youth Task Team has put together a Policy Brief on Alleviating Poverty in Sierra Leone by Supporting Livelihood Schemes in the Post-COVID-19 Pandemic.
