The Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC (YOUNGo) has opened applications for its Just Transition Academy, a fully online training programme designed to equip young climate advocates with the knowledge and skills needed to participate meaningfully in global climate negotiations.

Running from August to October 2025, the Academy will feature weekly virtual sessions covering climate policy, UNFCCC processes, negotiation tactics, and advocacy strategies. Participants will engage with experienced climate negotiators and policy experts, while also building connections with other young activists from around the world.

The program is free, fully online, and open to youth globally, with a certificate awarded upon successful completion. Spots are limited, and the selection process is competitive to ensure that committed and passionate youth are chosen.

As the world prepares for COP30, the Academy focuses on ensuring that youth understand the concept of Just Transition, making sure the move to a low-carbon economy is fair and inclusive, especially for vulnerable communities. This principle is central to global climate justice movements and increasingly relevant to youth involvement in policy spaces.
